TODAY IS A BIG DAY!!!

Today is Jeni's last radiation treatment!  Woo hooo!

As with chemo, all the side effects with radiation were pretty much as the doctor's had told her to expect, but I suspect she'd say that radiation was a world easier than chemo. 

We are all thankful for all the support Jeni has had, and will continue to have for as long as we all know her.  Her attitude and perseverance has been an inspiration to everyone around her!!

A progress update...

A little update for those following the efforts of the Help the Harris Family fundraising efforts.  Jeni is progressing through treatment quite well.  I am SO pleased to say that she has now put chemo behind her.  I know she is relieved to not have to think about any of the awful side effects she went through anymore.  She had yet another surgery last week to remove her port and now she is resting and recuperating before starting radiation next week.  That will go on for the next 6-7 weeks, 5 days a week!


Our largest fundraising event in Paradise, CA on March 5th was a huge success!!  I can't be quoted, but I heard the Round Table employees making comments to the effect of it being a MUCH larger crowd than they normally see for fundraising events, that it was the busiest Monday night in forever, and that they were calling in every employee that might be available to help out!  The restaurant was certainly busting at the seams, and the raffle, silent auction and bake sale were all a success.  There were also two successful events at the Moose Lodge in Martinez, CA in February and March.  Thank you to everyone who supported Jeni and the Harris Family!

I know our fundraising efforts have been a huge relief to Jeni.  Every dollar raised is a dollar that she doesn't have to worry about finding as the medical bills are due.  We haven't decided yet if we'll hold any more events for Help the Harris Family, but we'll certainly keep everyone posted on her treatment and if any events do come on the horizon!  In the meantime, you can still contribute directly to Jeni via the PayPal donate button on the left sidebar of this blog.  And THANK YOU!!!

New Raffle Grand Prize Hotel Stay in Cabo San Lucas!!!!

NEW RAFFLE GRAND PRIZE has been donated worth $2200!!  An 8 Day, 7 night hotel accommodation at the Cabo Villas Beach Resort in Cabo San Lucas.  The room is a amazing studio suite that faces the Sea of Cortez.  The donation is a timeshare, so the stay is from Saturday to Saturday, but the week chosen is flexible!  The exact room is not pictured on the website, but you can view more information about the resort here.  All pictures in this post are from their website!

Message me on Facebook if you are interested in purchasing raffle tickets before the event at Round Table Pizza in Paradise, CA on March 5th (from 5 to 9 PM).  Raffle tickets will also be available that night.   Tickets cost $2 per ticket (3 for $5).  Raffle winners need not be present to win, and will be chosen at 8:30 PM at the Round Table event.

How You Can Help!!

Several events are coming up to benefit the Help the Harris Family cause!  The flyer below is going up all over the Paradise/Chico area and details all the ways you can help out locally in the month of March!  Read on for more details...

Our main event is Monday, March 5, 2012 from 5 to 9 PM at the Round Table Pizza in Paradise, CA (6038 Clark Rd.).  We will be having a raffle, a silent auction and a bake sale at Round Table that evening, and Round Table is donating 20% of non-alcohol sales to our cause.  This includes delivery, so order pizza that night to support the Help the Harris Family cause!!!

The raffle includes over 25 prizes, and more are being donated every day!  The grand prize is an amazing prize valued at over $1600 that includes dental exams, x-rays and cleanings for a family of four (2 adults and 2 children).  There are several prizes valued well over $100 including a night out at Rolling Hills casino (dinner and 4 comedy show tickets), rounds of golf at Canyon Oaks Country Club, a health and wellness package that includes a thorough chiropractic exam, full-spine X-Rays, and a half-hour massage, and several gift baskets with awesome products.  There are many gift certificates to local restaurants and stores as well.  Raffle tickets will be on sale prior to and during the event at Round Table and cost $2/ticket or 3 tickets for $5.  Winners do not need to be present to win, but the winners will be selected at 8:30 PM at Round Table. The silent auction will begin on Saturday March 3, 2012 on Facebook and will continue until 8 PM on March 5, 2012 at the Round Table event.  Items up for auction will be listed with pictures on Facebook and bids may be placed via the comments section.  Bids will be accepted during the event at Round Table as well, where the items will be on display.  Bids from Round Table will be listed on Facebook and vice versa, until winning bids are determined at 8 PM.

Super yummy baked goods will also be sold for donations at the Round Table event.  The bake sale will include an assortment of treats including whole pies, cookies, brownies, and more.
